About Us

HotTubLiving.com is sponsored by the Hot Tub Council (HTC) of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP). APSP is the world’s largest international trade association and represents the swimming pool, spa and hot tub industry. The goal of HotTubLiving.com is to provide the most complete information available on not only the benefits of hot tub ownership, but responsibilities including maintenance and safety.

The HTC strives to increase awareness of the hot tub category among consumers by communicating the numerous benefits of hot tub ownership.

Safety is a core belief and commitment of the pool, spa and hot tub industry as demonstrated by the variety of ways that APSP and its members educate the industry and the public on water safety. These include advocating the widespread use and adoption of Standards for the construction and operations of swimming pools, spas and hot tubs approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and educating, training and disseminating a wide array of safety information both within the industry and to the public. APSP hosts a Web site at SplashZoneUSA.com to specifically educate children about water safety in a fun and interactive way.

The APSP and the HTC promote the positive wellness and experiential benefits of pool, spa and hot tub ownership. Various medical organizations such as the National Sleep Foundation, the Arthritis Association, the American Physical Therapy Association and the Cleveland Clinic recognize the value of warm water therapy. The HTC solicits and evaluates research to firmly establish the relationship between warm-water therapy and improvements in certain medical conditions.

The HTC developed a unique technical program for spa and hot tub technicians and service personnel. The Certified Hot Tub Technician (CHTT) program is the first and most complete of its kind in the industry.
